Miami Area Beaches

The best known beach in the Miami area is of course Miami Beach, America's vacation playland. Miami Beach runs from South Pointe Park north to just north of 63rd Street and Collins Avenue. Highway AIA runs the length of Miami Beach. "Miami Beach" is actually divided into several beaches:

North Shore Open Space Park/Beach - in Miami Beach

Large, busy park and beach. Very fine sand and shallow surf. Special Features: Tables and grills for picnics and plenty of outdoor showers in the park and on the beach.

South Beach

Today, the South Beach section of Miami Beach is a major entertainment destination with hundreds of nightclubs, restaurants and oceanfront hotels.
